EXPECT POLITICAL SURPRISES DUE TO COMELEC’S ‘REGISTER ANYWHERE’

Ayon sa aming bubuwit, in the months leading to the barangay election last year, a Marcos emissary went to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Iloilo to inquire about voter’s registration. The inquiry spawned speculations that a Marcos may be planning to run for a local elective post.

Pero wala nadayon ang registration last year. Was it perhaps due to so much unwanted public attention? Dapat low-key lang ang registration, just like when a Marcos kuno silently bought a property at a posh residential subdivision. Para wala anay intriga.

Now, there’s a solution for that – the nationwide Register Anywhere Program (RAP) of Comelec that kicks off today.

Under the RAP, a registrant will be allowed to file his/her application wherever there is a designated RAP registration site regardless of his/her place of residence. Other applications that will be accepted in RAP sites include new registration, transfer of registration from another city / municipality / district, transfer of registration from overseas to local, correction of entries or change of status, and reactivation.

This means a Marcos may register at Comelec Manila or somewhere else to be a voter in Iloilo. Pa-sekreto lang. Then when the time comes for the filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2025 elections, kibot lang publiko nga may Marcos na nga kandidato sa Iloilo. Tarso!

Pero ano ayhan nga elective position ang padalaganan?

Ayon sa aming bubuwit, there’s another national figure kuno that may use the RAP to transfer sang iya voter’s registration sa southern Iloilo, in preparation for the 2025 midterm elections. In fact, may property na kuno ini sia nabakal sa Iloilo. Masadya ini!
