Villaflor out, Wanky in as PRO-6 director
I LOILO City – Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor was relieved from his post as director of the Police Regional Office 6 ( PRO- 6) effective yesterday.
Villaflor, who l ed the regional police force for 10 months, confirmed to Panay News his relief order through General Order No. NHQ-GODES-2024-726.
He said he will assume his new post as acting chief of the Philippine National Police’s ( PNP) Human Resource and Doctrine Development (HRDD) after he was promoted to a two-star general.
Police Brigadier General J ack Wanky, a native of Buguias, Benguet, will replace Villaflor.
Prior to PRO-6 assignment, Wanky was the chief of the PNP Aviation Security Group.
He was also the former deputy regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office where he implemented security measures against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.
Wanky, whose wife is from Negros Occidental, is not also new to Western Visayas. He was previously assigned in Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan and had served as director of the Bacolod City Police Office.
He was a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 1992 and a classmate of Ilonggo Major General Samuel Nacion.
In a telephone interview yesterday, Wanky told Panay News that it is an honor to serve the people of Western Visayas.
“I’ m thankful to our President Ferdinand Marcos for this new assignment. It’s nice to serve the Ilonggos once again kay dugay man ako diri nga na- assign,” said Wanky who is staying with his family in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, Villa fl or expressed his gratitude to the people of Western Visayas, business sector, media, and stakeholders who have helped him during his stint in the region.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat sa pagtulong sa akin dito,” Villaflor said./
