IS THE FIRE BUREAU READY FOR EL NIÑO SEASON FIRE EMERGENCIES?
THE FIRE that hit a thickly populated residential area in Barangay San Nicolas, La Paz, Iloilo City yesterday afternoon was a reminder of the dangers of fire this El Niño season. In fact, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is warning Western Visayans that extreme heat from the El Niño phenomenon could make materials more combustible, increasing the risk of various types of fires including residential and building fires, rubbish, grass, sugarcane, and structural fires.
Ang pamangkot: Is the BFP Region 6 well-equipped to address fire emergencies?
Ayon sa aming bubuwit, one major concern is the lack of water for firefighting. Haslo!
The BFP’s usual sources of water are deep wells and rivers. What if
hubas ang mga bubon kag mala-mala ang mga suba tungod sa El Niño?
Also, do all towns and cities in Western Visayas have at least one fire truck each? Or if they have at least one, is the fire truck serviceable? Basi guba ini ukon not well-maintained?
Regular maintenance of fire trucks and equipment ensures that they are in optimal working condition, thereby preventing equipment failures during critical operations. This operational readiness is essential for saving properties and lives during fire outbreaks.
Well-maintained fire trucks and equipment are crucial for ensuring that firefighters can respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. Delays caused by malfunctioning equipment can lead to devastating consequences, including loss of life, increased injuries, and more extensive property damage.
