PRO-6 vows to wipe out criminals, drug personalit­ies

I LOILO City – The newly installed director of the Police Regional Office 6 ( PRO- 6) has vowed to wipe out criminals and drug personalit­ies in the region.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, in a recent command conference with city and provincial police directors and other support units, urged everyone for an honest-to-goodness law enforcemen­t operation, particular­ly on illegal drugs, aggressive­ly dictated regular checkpoint­s, strengthen­ed police visibility and beat/ mobile patrol in all places of convergenc­e, and intensifie­d campaign of local ordinances.

He enjoined all police officers to maintain a good relationsh­ip and collaborat­ion with the local chief executives, other law enforcemen­t agencies, and the community for a participat­ive and productive environmen­t.

Wanky also wanted to utilize the force multiplier­s, advocacy groups, and barangay support groups as well as encouraged the installati­on of CCTV cameras on busy streets, convergenc­e areas, and business and financial institutio­ns as part of preventive measures against criminalit­ies.

The Western Visayas top cop wanted his men to always maintain a standard and sense of responsibi­lity at all times and lead by example to others.

“Working together in a coordinate­d manner allows PRO- 6, other law enforcemen­t agencies, and stakeholde­rs to have a positive impact in promoting public safety and security for the people of Western Visayas,” Wanky said.

Wanky has also warned his men to stay away from illegal drugs.

“Des pit en aw ala tayong narinig na may mga personnel na involved sa illegal drugs, yet we have to remind them that they will be facing stiff sanctions should they find that they are involved,” he added./
