Coup de grâce

-

THE OUTCOME of a certain United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression ( UNSR) Irene Khan’s call for the abolition of the National Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) is it confirms without a doubt what’s on any discerning Filipino’s mind – that “Human rights” is just a Western cultural construct that aims not only to impose their narrative but also to control developing ( Third World) countries, particularly in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

In response, Human Rights Executive Director Severo Catura said the NTF- ELCAC is actually a “human rights mechanism” aimed to foster long and lasting peace, sustainable development, and unity of the Filipino people.

The NTF-ELCAC, because of what it does, is actually a human rights mechanism to fulfill the state’s obligation to protect its people at all cost.

In fulfilling its mandate, the NTFELCAC engages in various activities such as community development, livelihood programs, and peacebuilding initiatives.

What the NTF-ELCAC does is very much anchored on the achievement of peace and development and using a human rights- based approach to achieving t hat peace and development.

Through the government’s commitment to human rights, the Task Force seeks to build inclusive development where the needs of all individuals are recognized and addressed.

All the elements for the successful long-lasting peace are already there and the NTF-ELCAC is very much part of that.

Catura explained all of the above in a press conference hosted by the Integrated Communications Operations Center (ICOC).

And that is what we basically call an “up yours”, the classic middle finger to the biased call for the abolition of the NTF-ELCAC.

Of course, I am not surprised as this Khan, like that one before her, a certain Ian Fry who claims to be a UN Special Rapporteur in climate change and human rights, is just another “useful idiot” espousing an obsolete and irrelevant ideology.

Both, of course, are self-inflicted with “red tagging”, that imaginary “life threatening” malady conjured out of thin air by the pseudocommunists.

Meanwhile, NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Ernesto Torres Jr. said the Task Force is “laser- focused” on its mandate to end communist terrorism, it is in fact the coup de grace to the more than 50- year existence of the CPP-NPA-NDF. “Only a group and people supportive to the CPP-NPA-NDF would call for the abolition of such a body.”

It’s quite obvious that he was referring to those so- called UN “Human Rights” visitors we had recently that called for the abolition of the NTF-ELCAC, which does not come as a surprise, in fact I’d be disappointed if they didn’t.

Take note that another United Nations agency, UNRWA are not only logistically supporting the terrorists group Hamas but in fact a majority of its personnel in Gaza are members of this terrorist group.

Moving on, recently, NTFELCAC conducted a nationwide assessment and evaluation process of its mandated tasks with all its clusters and regional- provincialcity/municipal task forces.

Part of this process i s the evolution of “Halfway Houses” to “Peace Centers”, facilities aimed at supporting former rebels through their deradicalization process, skills and livelihood training, and to prepare them for their eventual reintegration back to mainstream society.

In addition, peace centers shall also serve as facilities in processing

would- be beneficiaries of the Amnesty Program of the government.

This implies a shift towards a broader and more inclusive approach to promoting peace and development in all the affected but already cleared or liberated from the claws of communist insurgency.

There is no doubt, the Task Force is successful dismantling 78 active guerilla fronts in a relatively short time, reducing their strength to just a fraction of their previous number.

Once the remaining 11 weakened NP Ague rill a fronts are dismantled only then the Task Force will transition into a National Task Force for Unity, Peace, and Development.

A coup de grace, indeed./
