In the lives of individuals and communities, journalism is essential. Of note, schools are among the settings in which journalism needs to be fostered and studies. Campus journalism is a broad field that includes all methods by which the public is informed about events and viewpoints. But the definition goes beyond that. This helps students improve their ability to observe and evaluate news articles according to their relative merits. It is also thought to be among the best ways to teach students both fundamental and sophisticated writing skills as well as the values of hard work and impartial judgment. Campus journalism is, in fact, a vital component of the educational program.

Correspondingly, in line with Republic Act. No. 7079, also referred to as the “Campus Journalism Act of 1991,” and to the Division’s objective of improving students’ journalistic abilities despite changes in the educational landscape, the School-Based Integration of Campus Journalism Across Learning Areas was implemented. The program was designed to provide equal opportunities for all learners by aligning with the curriculum and activities of the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) and all other learning areas. With integration, students’ 21st century skills will be enhanced, and all students will have the chance to demonstrate their journalistic abilities. Automate a school-level awards program that recognizes and rewards students and instructors who support campus journalism both inside and outside the school.

Lots of activities are present. Although the culture of campus journalism has changed somewhat since then, the fundamental ideas and values have not changed. It goes with a saying that, though time may pass, the main objective—ascertaining the “truth”—won’t ever alter in light of their culture. To add further, one way to give students a voice and a way to share their ideas about issues that are important to them is through campus journalism. (
