GOV. DODOD’S ‘TUMANDOK’ CAMPAIGN COULD BACKFIRE

-

IN HER public speaking engagements, Antique’s Gov. Dodod Cadiao – who is widely expected to run for congresswoman in next year’s midterm elections – has been selling the idea that it is smarter for Antiqueños to throw their support behind a tumandok or genuine resident of Antique rather than support a phony.

In fact, during the recent birthday celebration of former congressman Toto Paolo Javier, Inday Dodod declared: “I’d rather be ruled by an Antiqueño than be a servant to somebody who is pretending to be an Antiqueño.”

May ginapabati-batian ayhan si Gov. Dodod?

The good governor has a point. A tumandok has an intrinsic understanding of local issues, needs, and dynamics. A tumandok’s firsthand experience with the community’s challenges and opportunities allows him or her to devise more effective and relevant policies and solutions.

Also, a tumandok often enjoys a strong bond and trust with the community, which is vital for effective governance. Tumandok leadership can foster a sense of unity and collective effort towards common goals, enhancing social cohesion and community participation in local governance.

However, keen political observers warn that this “tumandok” campaign of Gov. Dodod, a “graduating” three-termer governor, could boomerang on her.

They suggest that Inday Dodod better double-check her political backyard kay basi may naka-impon nga indi tumandok. Hala!

Is it true or false that may taga-iban nga probinsya nga ara sa kampo ni Gov. Dodod? Taga- Capiz kuno? Ukon taga- Aklan?

Perhaps Toto Paolo, who is a real tumandok or true-blue Antiqueño, has an idea who.

Say mo, Vice Gov. Edgar?

Cong. AA “dies-dies” laughing!
