Lambunao resident found dead in Capiz
CAPIZ – A resident of Lambunao town in Iloilo Province was found dead in Barangay Conciencia, Panitan, Capiz.
The fatality was 51-yearold Ragne Fernandez Sison of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao.
He was named through the identification cards recovered by the Scene of Crime Operatives, which the family also later confirmed.
R a g n e ’ s b o d y was discovered at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, lying near a canal and bore 12 stab wounds, indicating signs of a struggle.
Allegation shave surfaced that the victim was kidnapped by unidentified and masked suspects in Iloilo before being found dead in Capiz.
According to Panitan Municipal Police Station investigator Staff Sergeant
Kharl Bryan Albisor, the victim’s brother, Arnold, 60, of Lambunao town, revealed that the victim had called him, disclosing a confrontation with the child of Ragne’s partner on Feb. 23.
Ragne was reportedly evicted from his residence after demanding reimbursement for funds spent on house renovations.
On Feb. 24, Arnold attempted to contact Ragne but was unsuccessful.
The following day, their nephew, Michael Sinebalo Sison, informed Arnold that he allegedly saw Ragne being kidnapped by several men and forced into a vehicle.
Ragne pleaded f or help, and when Michael tried to intervene, he was reportedly threatened by the kidnappers.
Before the i ncident unfolded, Michael recounted
that Ragne had visited their home to borrow a motorcycle for a trip to the store.
Upon Ragne’s return, he engaged in a phone conversation overheard by Michael. During which
he heard the statement, “Ready na di imo kwarta kwaa na di,”
The Panitan PNP and Lambunao PNP are currently collaborating to determine the circumstances of the
victim’s demise.
Albisor believes that the killing took place in Iloilo and that the body was disposed of in Panitan afterward.
