THE IMPORTANCE OF TECHNOLOGY: BRIDGING TEACHING AND LEARNING

Technology serves as a light both to teachers and learners to the challenges of the educational system. We need to face the truth, technology is the ‘in thing’ in the world today and has become a necessary aspect of our lives and most importantly of education. With the unstoppable advances in the technological world, it is the best answer to the present educational system aspiring to meet the new standard of society.

Teachers can communicate, and update learners and parents through technology. Updating the parents and guardians of learners was done through technology. Animation of the topics and lessons to be discussed and being discussed making learning-teaching fun and easier through technology.

With technology, educators, students, and parents have a variety of learning tools at their fingertips. Learners have sources for their assignments at easy access giving students immediate access to abundance quality information which leads to learning at a much quicker rate than before.

Technology and education are a great combination if used together with the right reason and vision. To bridge teaching and learning towards success. Undoubtedly, the positive effect of the application of technology in education cannot be overemphasized for it is necessary in every aspect of our lives.

Although there are people who are making arguments that technology ‘spoils’ children, technology remains a vital component of society today. But it’s up to us how to use it, it’s up to us to guide our children on how to use it properly. (Contributed article)
