ANOTHER MYSTERIOUS ‘CHOP-CHOP’ INCIDENT IN BACOLOD CITY
SOMEONE left a mutilated human hand, a leg and a pair of ears in front of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) office in Barangay 4, Bacolod City on Friday. Another handiwork of vigilantes?
This disturbing incident raises a number of questions, not the least about law enforcement integrity and the state of crime in the city. Leaving mutilated human body parts at the doorstep of a law enforcement agency is loaded with symbolic meaning.
Who owned those body parts? The identity of the victim and the reason behind this brutal act are crucial pieces of the puzzle.
Curiously, the dismembered human body parts showed signs that these were refrigerated or frozen, which could mean they were not freshly chopped off when found. This may suggest premeditation and a desire to preserve them until they were deliberately placed to be found. A calculated move.
This brings us to the question: Why were those body parts dumped at NBIBacolod? Was it intentional?
It is an audacious move that perhaps challenges the authority and capabilities of the NBI. Do the perpetrators have a grievance or message specifically targeted at the agency or one of its agents?
This scenario is further bolstered by the recovery of a paper bag with a written note tagging an unnamed NBI-Bacolod agent as a protector of a drug lord. Masadya ini!
This accusation, if true, would be a serious indictment of corruption within the agency and could undermine public trust in the institution meant to combat crime, including drug trafficking.
If this act was indeed a warning from vigilantes, it underscores the volatile and dangerous nature of the war on drugs in Bacolod – and even Negros Occidental – where lines between good and evil, justice and retribution, become blurred.
Say mo, Mayor Albee?
