THE STRUGGLES I HAVE FACED

The past two years of pandemic have been the most challenging of my career. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced schools to close their doors and teachers to adapt to distance learning. As an English language teacher for Online Distance Learning, I have faced unique challenges that have made the transition to distance learning even more difficult.

One of the biggest challenges I have faced is the poor internet connection. This has made it difficult for me to deliver my lessons and for my students to participate in online classes and access educational materials.

Another challenge I have faced is the difficulty of maintaining student engagement. In a traditional classroom setting, I could easily gauge my students’ understanding of the lesson by observing their body language and facial expressions. However, in a virtual classroom, it can be challenging to keep my students engaged and motivated. Many of them struggle with distractions at home, and it can be difficult to get them to focus on their lessons.

In addition, the pandemic has taken a toll on the mental health of both teachers and students. Many of my students are struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues caused by the pandemic. As a teacher, it can be challenging to address these issues remotely and provide the support my students need.

To make the distance learning work, I have had to spend sleepless nights searching for ideas to improve the quality of my daily online classes. I have had to become more creative in my lesson planning and find new ways to engage my students, such as using interactive games and quizzes.

As a teacher, I have also had to prioritize my mental health and well-being. I have found ways to manage stress and anxiety, such as taking breaks throughout the day and practicing mindfulness and self-care. Good thing my family got my back who never gets tired supporting me in my teaching endeavors during the pandemic.

To sum it up, the past two years of pandemic have been challenging for me as an English language teacher. The transition to distance learning has been difficult, but I have found ways to adapt and make it work. I am grateful for the unconditional support of my family during the distance learning, and I remain committed to providing my students with the quality education they deserve, even in the face of adversity.(
