Message in a paper bag

-

STRAIGHT to the point: There is this message written in a paper bag that intrigues Bacolodnons and Negrosanons.

The message is the “meat of the matter” behind the grim discovery of frozen dismembered body parts in front of the National Bureau of Investigation ( NBI) office on Aguinaldo Street, Purok Kamote Kahoy, Barangay 4, Bacolod City early morning of March 1.

The message warns an NBIBacolod prober for being an alleged protector of a certain drug lord in the city.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) chief, Colonel Noel Aliño, said they’re willing to get to the bottom of the case.

Correct me if I am wrong but it’s inapt for BCPO to be “starring” in this case because this involves someone from the premier state investigating agency.

In the manner and l evel of crime investigation, NBI is “above” compared to the police. Thus, sans further ado, it can go on with its motu propio investigation against its own agent.

In this “case in question”, the burden now lies on the NBI to probe its own man.

E-SABONG?

The rebuttal of NBI- Bacolod chief, Atty. Renoir Baldovino, during a media interview also on March 1, seemed to have created “thunderstorms” in Bacolod and Negros communities.

Baldovino doesn’t believe that the dumping of mutilated body parts in front of their office has something to do with illegal drugs.

More so that he doesn’t believe that the alleged prober of NBI-Bacolod is already guilty just because his name was written in the paper bag.

Baldovino is confident that his man is innocent.

He stressed that the motive of the dumping modus was a diversionary tactic to distract or waylay NBI in its aggressive campaign against illegal gambling, especially on the hushhush e- sabong (online cockfighting) operations in the city or province.

Questions: Is this true? Is Baldovino not joking? Who is behind illegal e-sabong in the province?

DEGAMO ASSASSINATION

March 4 was the first death anniversary of Gov. Roel Degamo et al. who were assassinated at the governor’s residential compound in Barangay 9, Pamplona, Negros Oriental.

Degamo’s grisly murder was also linked to e-sabong, but nothing is definite yet as the case sis till progresses.

But again, why is e-sabong the premier motive behind Degamo’s murder?

It was on May 2022 when then president Rody Duterte ordered the “killing” of e-sabong operations in the whole country. It shocked both the gaming and business communities in the country.

But Du te rt e’ s utmost consideration in his abrupt decision was “hailable”, stressing that e-sabong is reportedly causing lots of “evils” to many Filipinos, including to scores of law enforcers.

Finding it reasonable, President Bongbong Marcos, upon assumption in power in July 2022, further “buried” e-sabong “to the max”. Is there e-sabong still in Negros? Also adding to the “flavor of confusion” is Mayor Albee Benitez’ s statement in response to the dumping of the mutilated body parts in front of the NBI: “They chose the wrong city.”

What did he mean by that? And what’s his bold action to immediately address the dumping?/
