PRO-6 nets over 200 fugitives in weeklong ops

ILOILO City – In a weeklong blitz of simultaneo­us operations dubbed “Birada Semana” from March 4 to 10, the Police Regional Office 6 ( PRO- 6) has showcased significan­t strides i n combating various criminal activities.

In a resolute crackdown on wanted persons, law enforcemen­t carried out a total of 214 operations, resulting in the successful apprehensi­on of 214 individual­s with standing arrest warrants. Notably, among t he c aptured suspects, 20 were identified as “most wanted persons.”

The intensifie­d campaign against illegal drugs saw 78 operations carried out, leading to the arrest of 94 drug personalit­ies. The operations yielded a substantia­l confiscati­on of more or less 2,835.16 grams of shabu, valued at P19,279,088, and around 70 grams of marijuana, with an estimated standard value of P8,400.

Efforts to scourge the proliferat­ion of l oose firearms resulted in 22 operations executed, with 23 individual­s arrested. A total of 148 firearms and 23 explosives were either surrendere­d or recovered across various police units, contributi­ng to enhanced public safety and security.

The crackdown on illegal gambling saw 47 operations conducted, leading to the apprehensi­on of 185 individual­s and the confiscati­on of P40,613 in bet money.
