ILOPRISAA HS cagers rule Integrated Meet

ILOILO City – ILOPRISAA, represented by Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix, emerged as champions in the Integrated Meet secondary boys basketball on Thursday here.
Jid Locsin tallied a tripledouble of 24 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists as he led the ILOPRISAA to an 86- 68 beating of CDSA 3, represented by CenterPhil Montessori, in the finals.
Head coach Vincent Conlu said he was proud that they managed to pull off the championship despite a limited preparation as the tournament came days after their win in the ILOPRISAA Meet.
“For me, because, after we won the PRISAA, almost three days lang ang preparation
namon and ‘yung ibang boys ko nag- take leave muna para maka- recover sa exam, so sa real game na lang kami nagprepare,” Conlu said.
“I am very proud of my boys and I want to thank God for giving me these blessings, sa mga parents na all- out support, and to the Hua Siong
community because they understand the needs of my players,” he added.
Aside from Locsin, also forming part of the ILOPRISAA
secondary boys squad are Rymanuel Montinola, Henry Angelo Penafiel, Honorio Murillo, Amiel Dominic Demaala, and Rean Matillano. *
Completing the roster of Conlu are Wesley Lana, Glenn Pol Sucro, John Irvin Sitchon, Dave Matthew Recodo, Jann Francis Barcellano, and Chris John Cabrales.
“Most of the players are experienced naman eh, half of my team played in Palarong Pambansa last year so may mga experience na sila sa mga ganitong games,” Conlu said.
Up next for the ILOPRISAA i s t he Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association ( WVRAA) Meet, which is scheduled to be held from May 2 to 9 in Bacolod City.
“We assured the Ilonggos na mag- train hard kami and sa game mag go hard kami para ma- redeem namon ang Palarong Pambansa na Iloilo
ang mag- represent,” Conlu said./
