Victorias kicks off 26th Kadalag-an Fest

BACOLOD City – The city government of Victorias i n N e g r o s O c c i d e n t a l officially kicked off this year’s Kadalag- an Festival on Thursday.

The kickoff on March 21, which coincided with t he city’s Charter Day celebratio­n, began with a thanksgivi­ng mass, followed by a civic- military parade and an opening ceremony led by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez.

Tonight, March 22, the 12 stunning Sidlak Kadalagan Queen candidates will reach the finale of their journey to the crown.

T h e s t a r - s t u d d e d coronation night will be held at 8 p.m. at the City Sports and Amusement Center, and to be hosted by Miss Supranatio­nal 2023 1st Runner-Up Pauline Amelinckx.

Most of the events slated for the three-day celebratio­n will be held at the Sidlak

Victorias Global City in Barangay XIII.

The city government advised revelers, as they immerse themselves in the vibrant celebratio­n of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival, to keep their bodies hydrated as the province is currently experienci­ng the El Niño phenomenon.

Two drinking stations are available for revelers to refill their tumblers and bottles, ensuring they stay refreshed throughout the celebratio­ns.

The city also offers free transporta­tion services to and from the Victorias City Public Plaza to Sidlak Victorias Global City until the festival highlights on March 24.
