All set for Pagtaltal sa Bala-an Bukid 2024
GUIMARAS – Preparations by the local government units of Jordan town and Guimaras province are all set for “Ang Pagtaltal sa Bala-an Bukid 2024” on Good Friday.
This is the 49th year since “Ang Pagtaltal” was staged and its 15th year as a street drama.
The stage drama will start at the province’s smallest plaza in Barangay Poblacion, going to Bala- an Bukid Shrine in Barangay Balcon Melliza for its conclusion at 3 p.m. at the Crucifixion Site.
The opening program will start at 11:45 a.m. and the play will start at exactly 12:00 noon.
This year’s street drama scenes will be done mostly at the smallest plaza for approximately one hour and 45 minutes. These include:
* The Triumphant Approach to Jerusalem
* Jesus Goes to the Temple * The Plot Against Jesus * The Betrayal of Judas * Jesus’ Anointment at Bethany
* The Last Supper
* Jesus Prays in Gethsemane * The Arrest of Jesus
* Jesus Before the Council * St. Peter Denies Jesus * Jesus Before Pilate
* Jesus Before Herod
* The Scourging at the Pillar * The Agitation Meanwhile, the other scenes to be performed at the Jordan RoRo (Roll-On-Roll-Off) Port in Barangay Hoskyn are:
* The Women of Jerusalem and Offering of the Water to Jesus.

Inline with this, the local government reminded
pilgrims of its strict enforcement of Municipal Ordinance No. 2015003, or “The Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance of the Municipality of Jordan,” in all public spaces, especially within the Bala-an Bukid Area.
Under Section 5 of t he ordinance, the prohibited acts include smoking in enclosed or partially enclosed public places, workplaces, public conveyances, public outdoor spaces, or other public spaces.
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall suffer a penalty of P500.
“Due to the El Niño phenomenon, which brings extreme heat, the municipality of Jordan will strictly implement the Anti- Smoking Ordinance during the Holy Week celebration to avoid any untoward incident in the commemoration of the passion and death of our savior,” the Jordan local government reminded the public in a statement./
