Roquero leads in survey for Antique governor
SAN JOSE, Antique – If the May 12, 2025 elections were held today, who will you vote for Antique governor?
The Pulso ng Pilipino prepoll survey in the province of Antique asked 1,134 respondents this question. It gave them a showcard containing the names of possible candidates f or governor.
The results showed Anaka lusug an partylist provincial chairman Raymundo “Ray” Roquero garnering 663 votes or 58.5% of the 1,134 respondents.
Incumbent Vice Gov. Edgar Denosta who is widely believed to run for governor came in second with 306 or 27%.
Former congressman Paolo Javier was third with 138 votes or 12.2%; and shipping magnate Captain Vic Fedelicio was fourth with 27 or 2.4%.
Roquero was also a former mayor of Valderrama, Antique and a former director of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office during the administration of then President Gloria MacapagalArroyo.
Conducted on March 16 to 18, 2024, the Pulso ng Pilipino pre-poll survey was non-commissioned. Covering all the socio-economic classes, it was limited to Antique’s registered voters between 18 to 65 years old and above.
The Pulso ng Pilipino survey used the multi- stage, area probability sampling (MSAP) which is the standard norm used by all the established research organizations in most countries.
Selective interviews were made taking into account the demographic requirements such as gender, age and socioeconomic classification as the main considerations.
Meanwhile, in the race for Antique congressman, the Pulso ng Pilipino pre- poll survey showed incumbent Cong. Antonio Agapito “AA” Legarda Jr. of the lone district of Antique ahead of “graduating” Gov. Rhodora Cadiao who is widely expected to challenge him.
Legarda, brother of Antiqueña Sen. Loren Legarda, enjoyed a comfortable 12-point lead over Cadiao. He got 627 votes or 55.3% to the

On the other hand, in the contest for Antique vice governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Karmila Dimamay was
way ahead of other possible rivals. A popular vlogger, she garnered 480 votes or 42.3%.
Trailing Dimamay was fellow Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Dr. Nene Maye Plameras who got 375 votes or 33.1%.
Antique Liga ng mga Barangay president Nonoy Tajanlangit was at third place with 177 or 15.6%; and outgoing Provincial Board member Pio Sumande with 84 or 7.4%.
To add to the authenticity of the Pulso ng Pilipino pre-poll survey, the results were checked back at random by the Team Leader and cross-checked with the so-called Listening Posts (LPs) which is a safety net designed to ensure the authenticity of the results./
