PRO-6 nets 53 drug suspects, 106 wanted persons in weeklong sting

IL OIL O City–In a weeklong operation of the Police Regional Office 6 ( PRO- 6), law enforcemen­t personnel have demonstrat­ed remarkable success in their ongoing efforts against illegal drugs and various criminal activities.

From March 23 to 31, some 53 suspects involved in drug-related activities were apprehende­d.

More or less 1,473.9025 grams of shabu, valued at P10,022,537 based on the standard drug price, were confiscate­d across 43 operations conducted by various PRO-6 units.

In the battle against criminalit­y, a total of 106 fugitives were apprehende­d, including 23 most wanted persons and 83 other wanted persons.

Aligned with i ts antii nsurgency objective s , PRO- 6 achieved significan­t milestones such as t he apprehensi­on of one nonPeriodi­c Status Report-listed individual, the surrender of t hree persons, and convincing three individual­s to withdraw their support for Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).

Furthermor­e, authoritie­s seized three firearms and one explosive from the CTGs while also conducting two major combat operations, two minor combat operations, and 590 preventive patrols by the mobile forces.

Efforts to combat illegal gambling led to 32 operations, resulting in the arrest of 106 individual­s and t he confiscati­on of P193,602.25 in bet money from various parts of the region.

Additional­ly, there were nine operations targeting illegal fishing activities, which led to the arrest of 28 violators.

The mission to eradicate loose firearms continued with 78 operations, resulting in the confiscati­on, surrender, or deposit of 74 firearms and 11 explosives, along with the arrest of 29 individual­s./
