Panay News

Shaping stories and society

-

SINCE its inception in 1981, Panay News has grown from a humble weekly to become the most widely-circulated and read regional daily newspaper in Western Visayas, marking a significant journey that mirrors the resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to its founding vision: to serve the Ilonggos with reliable, credible, and trusted news and information.

Our narrative is a tale of a dream turned into reality, a fledgling endeavor nurtured into a soaring eagle that now overlooks the seas and mountains of Western Visayas – and beyond – with matured prowess and a keen eye for stories that matter. Our logo, a flying eagle, aptly symbolizes our storied evolution — a journey marked by perseverance, adaptability, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

The initial challenges were formidable, from logistical hurdles to the daunting task of building a reputable name in a competitive industry. Yet, our founder Danny G. Fajardo, fueled by a clear vision and a deep-seated commitment to public interest, hurdled these obstacles with steely resolve. The early days saw Sir Danny making sacrifices, from personally transporting bundles of the newspaper to leveraging his business networks to ensure the paper’s distribution across te region.

This journey from a fledgling paper to a regional powerhouse was paved with determination, innovation, and an unyielding commitment to the community it serves. The ethos of Panay News is deeply rooted in serving the Ilonggos, not just as a source of news, but as an educational tool and a catalyst for action. In doing so, the paper has become an integral part of the societal fabric in Western Visayas, shaping narratives and inspiring change.

As we celebrate 43 years of public service and enters our 44th, we have not only adapted to the changing media landscape but have thrived, continuously evolving with modern technologies while staying true to our core mission. This adaptability, coupled with a deep understanding of our audience, ensures that we remain relevant, resilient, and ready to face future challenges.

Looking forward, Panay News continues to hold our goal clear: to serve the Ilonggos with the same fervor and dedication that marked our inception. By informing, educating, and inspiring action, we do not just report on the community; we actively participates in its growth and development, shaping stories and, indeed, society itself.
