- By Jhunnex Napallacan

CEBU CITY—A 31-year-old womanwas found dead inside a car in Barangay Mabolo here past 6 a.m., about eight hours after her husband reported his wife’s abduction by armed men.

Agnelen E. Uy suffered a bullet wound in the head. Her body was found in the car.

Her legs were tied with a gray packaging tape. One of her hands had a packaging tape, indicating these could have been tied, too.

A piece of cloth covered her head. She was still wearing her necklace and bracelet.

Her husband, Wayne Christopher, was interrogated by the police for being a “person of interest” in his wife’s murder.

Wayne went to the police station in Barangay Subangdaku in Mandaue City at 10:28 p.m. on Wednesday to report that armed men took his Kia Picanto car with his wife inside.

He claimed that he and his wife were driving at the Mandaue reclamation area late Wednesday afternoon to talk.

Around 7 p.m., two unidentified men on board a motorcycle waylaid them. One of the men aimed a gun at him.

Wayne said he got out of his car but the gunman went inside the vehicle and drove away with his wife.

SPO2 Victor Ruel Ayuman, Cebu City homicide investigator, found it suspicious that it took Wayne at least three hours to report his wife’s abduction.

Security guard Wilfredo Paspi, of the nearby Alcon Building, said the car was parked on the road around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

He didn’t check it until 6 a.m. on Thursday when he noticed that the car was still there.

Paspi peeped through the window and saw a body. He then called up the police.

Police investigators found a bullet for a .45 cal. pistol and some personal items inside the car.

A gallon of gasoline was also found inside the vehicle. Wayne later confirmed to police that he and his wife were having a marital problem.

But he denied killing his wife.

SPO2 Ayuman said Wayne cooperated in the investigation and allowed himself to be subjected to a paraffin test.

His fingerprints were also taken to match those found inside the car.
