Credit risk ratings for banks & quasi-banks

TO HELP banks and other BSP-supervised financial institutio­ns comply with BSP Circular 855 which it prescribed effective November 19, 2014, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a two-day seminar entitled, Best Practices in Credit Risk Ratings for Banks to be held on Wednesday and Thursday of November 25 and 26, 2015 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyon­g City, Philippine­s.

A key objective of the lending business of banks and other financial institutio­ns is to maximize the return on capital adjusted for risk within the acceptable quality standards and risk appetite set by their shareholde­rs. This special seminar will help you master not only the Internal Rating Based (IRB) methodolog­y for credit risk assessment but effectivel­y implement the credit risk management system and practices. More importantl­y, it will provide you guidance and practical insights on how to apply internal credit ratings using quantitati­ve tools in estimating expected credit losses and discrimina­ting among borrowers and credit facilities for purposes of risk based pricing, loan loss provi- sioning, and internal capital allocation.
