Adamson dean wins Agora award for business education
THE MAN at the helm of Adamson University’s College of Business Administration (CBA) was recently honored with another prestigious award, this time by the leading awardgiving body in the marketing industry. CBA dean Dr. Carl Mark Miniano was recently given the Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Education award during the 36th Agora Awards held last Nov. 11 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. The Agora Award is given by the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) to honor outstanding marketing practitioners and recognize significant individual and organizational contributions to the marketing profession. In selecting Dr. Miniano for the award, the PMA cited his multitude of achievements as a “servant leader, researcher, management consultant, school administrator, and devout business educator.” The PMA recognized his deep and continuous involvement in several organizations where he serves in various capacities such as the Vincentian Center for Social Responsibility, where he is a founding director; the Executive Council of Deans and Educators in Business, where he is the current president; at PACUCOA, where he is a seasoned accreditor; and Brainsmith Consultancy Inc., where he is a senior consultant. Dr. Miniano is also an active researcher while serving as dean and professor at Adamson, and also takes his brand of education to Adamson’s Graduate School and Transnational and Distance Education, the Graduate School of the Philippine Women’s University, and the Claro M. Recto Academy of Advance Studies of the Lyceum of the Philippines University.
