Casino Filipino features OPM stars in June entertainment shows

CASINO Filipino (CF) pays tribute to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) this June showcasing a series of entertainment treats top-billed by world-class local performers.

Themed "Hoy! Hoy! Hoy! Bilib Ako sa Pinoy!", the much-awaited musical events will feature popular artists like Dingdong Avanzado, Jessa Zaragosa, Aiza Seguerra, Bugoy Drilon, Frenchie Dy, Renz Verano, Melai and Boobay and many other OPM stars.

According to PAGCOR Assistant VP for Entertainment Bong Quintana, holding shows that feature celebrated Filipino performers is CF's way of showing support to the local music industry. "Whenever we plan our monthly-themed celebrity shows, we put into consideration the promotion of OPM in the country," Quintana said.

Avanzado, who will be performing with wife Jessa Zaragosa on June 23 at Mactan Satellite and on June 29 at CF Pavilion, feels elated that Pinoy music and artists will be highlighted in the month-long musical extravaganza at different CF branches and satellites nationwide.

"Our local talents are at par with the world. In fact, many Pinoy acts are being heralded internationally so it's just fitting that Filipino music is brought further to the awareness of the public through concert shows like this" he proudly noted. The singer-politician vows to serenade the casino audience with his signature hits "Basta't Kasama Kita", "Tatlong Beinte Singko" and "Maghihintay Sa 'Yo", among others.

Jessa, meanwhile, will have shows at Mactan Satellite on June 3 and CF Olongapo on June 15.

Another OPM legend, Marco Sison, whose timeless pieces "My Love Will See You Through" and "Si Aida, Si Lorna O Si Fe" remain a staple among videoke lovers, will perform live at CF Iloilo on June 15.

Meantime, while preparing for another run of the highly-acclaimed theatrical show "Rak of Aegis" where he is part of the cast, Renz Verano will entertain guests at CF Davao on June 04.

Also, Frenchie Dy who juggles her time between singing and taping for ABS-CBN's primetime soap "Dolce Amore", will take the stage at Iligan Satellite on June 4 and at CF Tagaytay on June 11.

Acoustic singer and actress Aiza Seguerra will also be spotted at CF Cebu on June 3 and at CF Angeles on June 15.

Apart from providing top-rate musical entertainment, CF will also delight its guests with a superior brand of comedy brought by the wacky duo of Melai and Boobay. The funny duo will perform on June 8 at CF Pavilion, June 17 at CF Cebu, June 23 at CF-Olongapo, June 24 at Malabon Satellite, June 25 CF Tagaytay, and June 29 at CF Angeles.
