MASERATI BRINGS ‘PEOPLE OF PASSION’ TOGETHER FOR A GOOD CAUSE

- By Paul John Caña

Luxury car brand Maserati brought together people of passion to help raise awareness for a good cause. The brainchild of Jason Soong, executive director of Autostrada Motore Inc, who handles the Maserati brand, the People of Passion campaign is a socially relevant endeavor that helps provide for future generations by partnering with Hope in a Bottle.

Soong and Maserati enlisted the help of people who display passion in their lives through different ways and disciplines. These People of Passion “give hope to those who share their sentiments, and serve as inspiration to those who wish to live their lives with the same fervor.”

The four men chosen to em- body passion are ace photographer Marc Nicdao; TV host and local motoring stalwart James Deakin; model, host and kiteboarding enthusiast Marc Nelson; and surfer Paolo Soler.

“Passion is an element or ingredient that makes everything special,” said Nicdao. “When you’re looking at a painting, photograph, sculpture even research, school work or sports— it's that something that you can't explain but you know it's there—when you see something that actually makes an impact on you.

“I’m blessed to be able to indulge in almost all my passions so it is a massive part of my life,” Deakin said. “I have a show about cars and one that tackles road safety issues and traffic problems. I couldn’t ask for more.”

“The Maserati x Hope partnership is a wonderful initiative that will help promote and contribute to the good work that Hope in a Bottle does in building more schools around the country,” added Nelson. “In the same way as I am passionate about kiteboarding, it's nice to see brands like Maserati and Hope in a Bottle being passionate about the education of Filipino children.”

“The team up between Maserati x Hope in a Bottle provided me an avenue to help their mission in building much needed classrooms around the Philippines through my passion for surfing,” said Soler. “This is something I never expected to be able to contribute to and feel so honored and extremely lucky to have been given this chance to do so. I really love being part of the People of Passion project and I am looking forward to how this campaign will be instrumental in providing the educational needs of kids across the nation.”

Hope in a Bottle is a project of non-profit organization and advocacy group Generation Hope, which partners with retail establishments by selling bottled water. One hundred percent of profits goes to building public school classrooms all over the country. Founded by Nanette Medved-Po, Generation Hope believes progress starts in the classroom, which is the breeding ground of future game changers and world movers. By partnering with Hope in a Bottle, Maserati is building a legacy by supporting a generation of people of passion.

As of today, Generatuin Hope has sold over 10 million Hope Bottles, built 37 classrooms and impacted over 9,000 students. Medved-Po was cited as a Hero of Philanthropy this year by Forbes magazine for her efforts.

“Jason put the whole thing together, and he had the passion to deliver it,” said Wellington Soong, president and CEO of Autostrada Motore and Jason’s father during the launch. “This whole thing became a reality because of his commitment, his belief and his vision. He made it all happen.”

Soong added that the campaign also coincides with the fifth anniversary of Autostrada Motore’s gleaming showroom and headquarters in Bonifacio Global City. In addition to Maserati, the company is also the exclusive importer and distributor of other luxury car brands like Ferrari, Land Rover and Jaguar in the country.

“The building is now known as the Wellington Center and it’s not just about selling cars,” he said. “It’s about lifestyle, art, music. It’s just all about the finer things in life and the blessings that we share with the rest of society.”
