Different Slates of Grey

-

Geneva’s watchmaking tradition is being expressed in a contemporary spirit by watchmaker Vacheron Constantin with six new models joining the Traditionnelle collection. The slate grey faces adorn these new models as it makes its debut in the Traditionnelle creations, which are all available with 18K 5N pink gold cases. It is a modern and elegant style for models combining technical sophistication and distinctive watchmaking characteristics, interpreted through a range of varied horological complications.

The new collection models features a round stepped case, slim bezel and fluted caseback, a railway-track minute circle, “bâtons de Genève” applied hour-markers and Dauphinetype hands the give them a distinctive signature in the new Traditionnelle collection. The warm glow of 18K 5N pink gold beautifully offsets the slategrey shade of the opaline dial, teamed with an elegant black alligator leather strap.

Embodying a contemporary expression of the grand Geneva watchmaking tradition, each model houses a Manufacture mechanical movement, a manual-winding or self-winding depending on the model and adorned with exquisite hand-crafted finishing. Showcasing the full spectrum of the watchmaking art, from simple displays to the most sophisticated complications, this line pays tribute to the technical and aesthetic expertise of Vacheron Constantin, enriched by almost three centuries of uninterrupted activity.

The two stars of the collection are graced with a generously sized 44 or 42mm-diameter pink gold case, the Traditionnelle calibre 2755 and Traditionnelle 14-day tourbillon. They demonstrate a rare degree of complexity and technical accomplishment. The Traditionnelle calibre 2755 unites three major fine watchmaking complications - a tourbillon, a perpetual calendar and a minute repeater with centripetal flying strike governor. The Traditionelle 14-day tourbillon is an equally exclusive model that also features an open worked tourbillon shaped like a Maltese cross, the Vacheron Costantin emblem, and boasts an impressive 14-day power reserve thanks to four series-coupled barrels. These exceptional creations are equipped with equally outstanding mechanisms in the form of mechanical manual-winding movements developed andmanufactured by Vacheron Constantin and graced with traditional finishing testifying to fine craftsmanship and horological excellence.

Other models in the collection are the following – the Traditionnelle with ultra-thin self-winding caliber, Traditionnelle day-date and power reserve, Traditionnelle with simple display in both manualwinding and self-winding movements. These comprises an array of watches equipped with classic functions - hours and minutes for the Traditionnelle with ultra-thin self-winding caliber, while the central seconds, day, date and powerreserve indication for the Traditionnelle day-date and power reserve and small seconds at 9 o’clock and date for the Traditionnelle with simple display with the self-winding movements are visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The manual-winding variant that features hours, minutes and small seconds at 6 o’clock, has an almost three-day power reserve.
