Celebs donate to Caritas Manila

Chris Tiu, Julius Babao and Tintin Bersola-Babao, and Mr. Internatio­nal 2014 Neil Perez, have donated to Caritas Manila’s (CM) Segunda Mana charity bazaar, which sells secondhand goods to raise money for the Archdioces­e of Manila’s lead social services and developmen­t ministry.

The donation was made during the Segunda Mana Expo at Fairview Terraces. CM executive director Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual accepted the donation.

Proceeds of Segunda Mana bazaars go to CM’s flagship Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP), which supports the matriculat­ion of 5,000 scholars nationwide.

Christmas bazaar

Meanwhile CM’s Caritas Margins will hold a Christmas bazaar on Dec. 1-3 at Glorietta Mall in Makati City.

Bazaar will feature products ranging from food to home and ladies accessorie­s, personal-care products, and artwork from resident inmates of penal communitie­s cared by the Caritas Restorativ­e Justice Ministry, and other gift items and decor. Segunda Mana items will also be on sale.

Caritas Margins is a social enterprise that markets products of poor communitie­s and micro enterprise­s in the country. It provides skills training to poor sectors, honing them to become social entreprene­urs.

Proceeds will go to YSLEP.

Novenas at Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo is holding the perpetual novena to the Santissimo Rosario de La Naval de Manila every Saturday, 5:30 p.m., according to Fr. Roland Mactal, OP, rector of the Shrine of La Naval at Santo Domingo Church. Mass follows at 6 p.m.

Santo Domingo Church is also holding every Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., the perpetual novena to Saint Dominic de Guzman, founder of the Dominican Order.

It is likewise holding the Novena to San Vicente Ferrer every Friday, 5:30 p.m. A Dominican missionary during the medieval ages, San Vicente Ferrer is considered a miraculous saint and the patron of builders.
