INDUSTRIES RANK ATTITUDE AND SKILLS AS TOP HIRING REQUIREMENTS IN FEU INDUSTRY INSIGHT SURVEY

-

RECRUITERS in the information technology, communication, services, and finance industries consider attitude, skills, credentials, and internship experience as most relevant when hiring fresh graduates. This is one of the highlights of the Industry Insight Survey conducted by Far Eastern University’s Placement Office.

In line with the university’s commitment to producing industry-responsive and globally competitive graduates, the survey aims to validate if the present knowledge and abilities of FEU students match the demand of the workforce. Results show that Tamaraw graduates are recognized for their committed, respectful and “can-do” mind-set, effective communication, and social perception.

“While there are still many opportunities to explore for academe-industry linkages, it is uplifting to know that the assessment of our graduates’ employability meets the industry requirements,” says Michelle Bautista, FEU Placement Office director. “We also have a lineup of pro- grams, services and events for AY 2017-2018 that will help strengthen our future graduates’ global competitiveness.”

The study also gives a better view on the preferred activities that companies are keen on partnering with. Ways on how to further improve placement services and mentorship programs are discussed during the FEU First (F1), an annual event that gathers corporate leaders to exchange ideas and build a partnership with academic heads and students.

Carrying this year's theme ‘‘An Innovation-ready Graduate: A Catalyst for Economic Competence,’’ F1 talks about the future of work, environmental trends and advice for job seekers.

The event welcomes FEU partners Ayala Foundation, JP Morgan Chase, Kalibrr, MERALCO, Makati Medical Center, Robinsons Inc., SM Mart Inc., W Hydrocolloids Inc., and Thomson Reuters, among others.
