Islas Pinas

DoubleDragon Plaza, Pasay

-

Taking a space which would traditionally be one’s run-of-the-mill foodcourt, DoubleDragon created what it believed will truly be a landmark in the country.

Islas Pinas is a food and heritage village which showcases the Philippines’ rich history, culture and heritage, marrying both the richness of Filipino cuisine and the diversity of our landscape.

Step into Islas Pinas and be transported to the different regions of our islands without having to travel far—there’s the thatched roof of the bahay kubo, colorful sails of the vintas of Zamboanga and the ingenuity and creativity of the jeepney. There are also snippets of the country’s popular tourist attractions such the cobblestone streets of Vigan and the iconic Banaue rice terraces.

“We wanted to develop a world-class venue that would represent what the country is all about,” said Hannah Yulo, DoubleDragon’s chief invest- ment officer and senior vice president for corporate finance. “We could not have chosen anyone better than Margarita Fores to collaborate with on this concept. We believe she is the epitome and hands-down the best Am- bassadress of Philippine cuisine,” she added.

The 2,500 sqm space was designed by Lara Fernandez-Barrios of Larawan Ink in collaboration with the DoubleDragon Team.

Islas Pinas can seat close to 700 and also offers souvenirs and other local crafts.
