BEEP UPKEEP NOW AT YOUR FINGERTIP

The operator of the Beep card, the payment system used in Metro Manila’s elevated train systems, will allow onlinebased reloading by March this year.

In a statement on Friday, Beep card operator AF Payments Inc. announced a partnership with JustPayTo Philippines Corp. (Justpay.to), an online payments company licensed and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

JustPayTo is a money remittance platform company that focuses on internet-based financial solutions to customers, especially the vast majority without bank accounts.

To load their cards, Beep users can follow the instructions on the website https://justpay.to/beep.

Using this platform, users can load their Beep cards using credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts, cash and even digital currency.

“We are constantly looking for ways to make reloading convenient for our cardholders. www.justpay.to/beep is a simple and easy to use reloading system that I am positive our cardholders will welcome. We are happy to partner with JustPayTo to bring this service to our 5.5 million cardholders,” Peter Maher, CEO of AF Payments, said in the statement.

Beep cards are presently reloaded through Bayad Centers and affiliates, the Coins.ph app and Beep loading kiosks.

AF Payments is owned by Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and Ayala Corp. The consortium was allowed to distribute and operate the Beep card system after winning the automated fare collection system public-private partnership project in 2013.

The Beep card is a tap-andgo card payment system accepted in all three elevated railways (LRT 1, LRT 2 and MRT 3), Cavite Expressway, North Luzon Expressway, FamilyMart, Wendy’s branches and Robinsons Movieworld branches.

It is also available in pointto-point bus lines such as those run by BGC bus, Citylink, DNS P2P, Froehlich P2P, HM Transport P2P and Lancaster New City P2P.
