South Pole warmed 3 times global rate in 30 years

BUENOS Aires—temperature data shows that the South Pole has warmed at three times the global warming rate over the last three decades up through 2018, its hottest year on record, a study published on Monday in Nature Climate Change said. Data from 20 weather stations across Antarctica show the South Pole warming rate was seven times higher than the overall average for the continent, the study said.
