PAYMAYA, MUNTINLUPA EMPOWER CITIZENS WITH ACCESS TO THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

-

PayMaya Philippines, the country’s pioneer and leader in digital financial services and the preferred partner of LGUs for digital transformation, and the Lingkod Muntinlupa Foundation are working together to improve the disbursement of subsidies to citizens and scholars of the Muntinlupa Care Card program.

The Lingkod Muntinlupa Foundation, through its public-private partnership with the City Government of Muntinlupa, provides citizens with Muntinlupa Care Cards that enable them to access services such as free e-Jeepney rides, accident financial insurance, healthcare services, and job and livelihood opportunities.

Through the partnership with PayMaya, financial assistance is now disbursed to Muntinlupa Care Card holders digitally—a more secure, convenient and efficient alternative to distribute hard cash to communities—at no sign-up cost.

The Muntinlupa Care Card holders now have their very own personalized PayMaya cards where they can automatically and immediately receive their benefits.

Their PayMaya cards are accepted anywhere Visa is honored—even abroad. Muntinlupa Care Card holders can use their PayMaya to transact at physical stores such as groceries, drug stores, restaurants, and malls—no need to carry cash which is hassle and risky.

Muntinlupa Care Cards will soon be converted into two-inone PayMaya IDs, equipping citizens with one card that they can conveniently carry and use anytime, anywhere.

PayMaya is telco-agnostic, allowing anyone regardless of mobile number—Globe, Smart, TnT—to create an account instantly without the hassle of changing SIM cards just to enjoy the benefits of ecash and the digital economy.

“Our city government aims to arm our constituents with innovative technologies that open their world to digital possibilities. At the same time, our Muntinlupa Care Card holders can enjoy the ease of online payments, and learn to manage their funds efficiently,” said Honorable Jaime Fresnedi, Mayor of Muntinlupa City.

“We are on a mission to bring the advantages of digital financial services to more institutions, and to introduce more Filipinos to the opportunities of the digital economy,” said Orlando Vea, President and CEO of Voyager Innovations and PayMaya Philippines.

PayMaya allows users to manage their funds wisely. Since PayMaya is prepaid, account holders can only spend what is in their e-wallet, making PayMaya the preferred partner of credit-averse individuals. With PayMaya’s inapp real-time transaction history and SMS notification, tracking of expenses in detail, including amount spent, time, date, merchant, and account balance is possible.
