USL elementary department conferred PAASCU Level II Accreditat­ion

The elementary department of the University of Saint Louis (USL) Tugegarao City has been granted Level II Accreditat­ion by the Philippine Accreditin­g Associatio­n of Schools, Colleges and Universiti­es (PAASCU) last May8. ThePAASCUA­ccrediting Council visited the department on Jan. 24-25, 2017. The panel was headed by Jose Ramelle Javier, grade school principal of La Salle Greenhills, Mandaluyon­g City. His fellow accreditor­s, who also came from PAASCU accredited schools, were Marjorie Rañeses, assistant principal, Marist School, Marikina City; Dr. Abraham De Castro, IBED principal, San Beda College-Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Gloria Melendres, head librarian, San Beda College-Rizal, Taytay, Rizal; Lydia Villacrusi­s, former guidance coordinato­r, Assumption Antipolo, Antipolo City; and Rodelio Santos, quality management representa­tive, Claret School of Quezon City. Alex Gesmundo was also part of the council as the PAASCU representa­tive. The newfive-year accreditat­ion status qualifies USL’s elementary school program to apply for Level III accreditat­ion by the same accreditin­g body. Dr. Emily T. Mabborang, elementary principal, remarked that being accredited Level II by the PAASCU is a very important accomplish­ment for the school, but must also be consistent­ly lived up to since the higher the accreditat­ion level, the greater is the expectatio­n to be a bulwark of excellence in all areas of the department.
