KEEPING IT SAFE

- By Theresa S. Samaniego @teksamaniegoINQ

Safety and security.

These are what every builder would want to ensure in all the structures that will be created and developed, and what every tenant and resident would look for as well.

Fortunately, there has been a growing number of companies offering top-of-the-line equipment and gadgets that could help provide that sense of security and peace of mind.

Finding all these companies housed under one roof would be at the World of Safety and Security Expo (Wosas), which is slate to hold its first installment from September 21 to 24 at the World Trade Center.

Organized by Worldbex Services International, the country’s leading events and expositions organizer, Wosas aims to deliver a world-class exhibition on the latest safety and security innovations and ultimately, to address the growing need to elevate the quality of safety and security in the country.

Wosas is poised to raise the bar anew by gathering a wider and more diverse roster of exhibitors alongside a dynamic line-up of pocket events and activities. Most notably, the highlighting this year’s Wosas is its partnership with the Philippine National Police.

Throughout the four-day show, the PNP will be hosting a series of events that aims to promote a better understanding of safety and security.

Indeed, Wosas leads in elevating the standards of safety and security in the country. It is set to take over 15,000 sqm of exhibition space, which will house over 100 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions such as China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States.

This year’s edition of Wosas expects to welcome 6,000 visitors from 10 countries—making it the ultimate venue of convergence among government agencies and the private sector who are all seeking to improve their safety and security systems.

Divided into four theme areas of security and surveillance, fire and safety, smart home and building, as well as energy saving and electric automation, this year’s show boasts of an extensive product and service profile.

This included access control and building management; biometrics and identification; cash management; CCTV and surveillance; clothing, equipment and personnel; components and cables; critical infrastructure security; fire health and safety, home automation; information and communication technologies; intruder alarms; IP security; locks; networking and integration; perimeter security; and security vehicles, among others.

Seminars included the Global Digital Surveillance Forum Philippines; a demo on industrial factories management; and lectures on fire and safety as well as industrial electrical, civil electrical and automation.
