TIP Quezon City students triumph in ArchiNext 2018

Students from the Technologi­cal Institute of the Philippine­s (TIP) Quezon City won in the recent ArchiNext 2018: HCG Young Designers’ Competitio­n (AYDC).

The announceme­nt was made during the HCG Awards Night at the United Architects of the Philippine­s (UAP) Constructi­on Expo (CONEX) 2018 held at the SMX Convention Center.

This year’s design challenge was entitled “SIBOL: A Community-Based Recovery Home for Drug Dependents.” Sibol is envisioned to be operated by cities or municipal government units and shall have four basic components/services that include Therapeuti­c Services, Vocational and Education, Stay-in Residentia­l Services, and Administra­tive with Support Services Office.

Among the 569 entries in the competitio­n, the top three finalists were chosen to vie for the title of Grand Winner. Mike Spencer R. Cerbito, a 4th year architect student from TIP Quezon City was declared as the Grand Winner and Best Presentati­on Awardee. Two more students from TIP Quezon City were awarded: Christian Lawrence C. Fedilo who placed 9th and Janet B. Vizcarra who won the Most Innovative Design Award.
