DLSAU-ECCRI founder is new country representative to UNbody
Glenn Banaguas, founder and executive director of the De La Salle Araneta University-Environmental and Climate Change Research Institute (DLSAU-ECCRI), has been appointed as the country representative/consultant of the Philippines to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
As country representative, Banaguas’ tasks include resilience building, biodiversity conservation, combating land desertification, and climate resilient forest management—all with the end goal of achieving Land Degradation Neutrality in the Philippines and in the ASEAN Region.
UNCCD is one of the 1992 Rio Earth Conventions, together with the Convention on Biological Diversity and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Its main headquarters is in Bonn, Germany,
