The Tatler Dining Guide Philippines
Mesa
WHY GO
For Filipino fare done with an assured hand and palate, one can never go wrong with this restaurant whose pitch is homestyle cooking but with a worldly panache.
TATLER TIPS
Walk-ins are welcome. The food aspires to go beyond the usual without going overboard with all the hybrid pretence. Service is brisk, and servings are ample. The tawilis with mangga is a delight to commence this culinary journey. Best to pass on the tinapa roll whose aroma takes getting used to. The requisite Crispchon served two ways lives up to its reputation; although surprisingly the one tossed in chilli garlic proved to be more enjoyable. Save room for the Filipino delicacies such as the crispy leche flan for dessert.
