WHY GO

Consistently good quality Japanese food is what this restaurant is lauded for. The price is reasonable and the location is perfect, both for business lunches and family dinners.

TATLER TIPS

The menu may be overwhelming so to make it easier, go for any of the kaiseki, bento, or teishoku sets. You can never go wrong with fresh hamachi or sake sashimi, a staple on every Japanese table. A feast for both the eye and the palate, the Dragon Roll with ebi fry, lettuce, and a special sauce is a must-try. The slices are thick and filling. For the mains, try the melt-in-your-mouth gindara teriyaki in Sugi’s signature sauce and the kaki kari kari yaki (crispy oysters served with a special sauce and mixed vegetables). Splurge on the Kobe beef steak cooked teppanyaki style; every cent is worth it.
