The Tatler Dining Guide Philippines
Tsumura
WHY GO
Tsumura is practically an institution in the Salcedo village area, having been around for many years now. There's a very good reason for this: the food is consistently good. One thing though, the place needs sprucing up; the interiors are looking tired.
TATLER TIPS
Tsumura's menu is overwhelmingly extensive. Go straight to the sushi and sashimi section; the quality and freshness is indisputable. One cannot go wrong with either the wagyu, the sukiyaki, or the shabu-shabu. The tempura set is value for money. Hidden in the menu are several items, unprepossessing but definitely worth a try—the fresh seaweeds with ponzu sauce, the grilled mushrooms, the lapu-lapu usuzukuri, the thinly-sliced chicken with vegetables and egg on rice, the mushroom and seafood in soup, and the egg custard.
