Renowned designer Josie Natori celebrates 40 years of success with a fashion photoshoot in picturesque Boracay

-

The skies were grey when Josie Natori and the Philippine Tatler team landed in Boracay for a two-day shoot. Despite initial misgivings, the weather conditions did not deter the team from making preparations for the cover story of this magazine's first fashion issue of the year.

Natori turns 40 this year; the designer behind it is turning 70 (which she was proud to divulge). However, Josie is showing no sign of slowing down. Her stamina is enviable and her energy, contagious. She would move from location to location in a pair of hig h heels with gusto, gamely posing with the PMAP mod els selected by the Tatler team for the shoot.

Also as a reminder to us all, she was never late in anything from make-up to call time. When the exhausted team decided to take a break before dinner, Josie was still up and about, declaring, "It's time for champagne!"

On the second day, Josie was up bright and early—so early that the make-up artist and venue were not yet ready. They began preparation at 7AM, and eventually wrapped at around 5PM in the afternoon. For more on Josie and her future plans for Natori, turn to page 174 for the story.

Special thanks to Ester Marcaida and Mica Cordero of Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa for accommodating the Philippine Tatler team and to SkyJet Airlines president Dino Reyes- Chua for flying everyone to the venue.
