Arts and culture get a much-needed boost from the private sector as the BGC Arts Centre opens to the public
he first and only stand-alone theatre established through private donation, BGC Arts Centre has finally opened its doors late last year. With the aim to keep art alive and accessible, the arts centre provides cultural and educational experience for the public, encouraging Filipinos to express their creative side and embrace the country’s own rich artistry. Maybank Performing Arts Theatre, the main building of the arts centre, is composed of various spaces for theatrical productions, exhibitions, and workshops. Sun Life Ampitheatre, meanwhile, is an open area for outdoor activities and can hold up to 300 people. In between is the landscaped Alveo Central Plaza. Designed by award-winning architects, BGC Arts Centre is a project of the non-profit organisation, Bonifacio Arts Foundation, Inc, which implements the Public Art Programme of Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation in BGC.
