DARE TO WEAR

For John Hardy’s fall 2017 collection, Creative Director Hollie Bonneville Barden took inspiration from the Naga, the serpentine dragon of Oriental folklore. Beyond the myth, the Naga is the embodiment of different elements like the earth, ocean, and sky. Pieces in the collection are made from natural stones such as golden sheen sapphire, silver sheen obsidian, and bi-coloured amethyst to symbolise nature’s elemental strength. Bonneville Barden notes, “I selected the stones not just for their suggestion of power, drama, or the fascination of light and colour— but to show nature’s strength through creation.”
