Nearly half a million ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod, Moises Padilla

-

NEARLY half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu were seized in buy bust operations in Bacolod City and Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental on Thursday, October 6.

Aside from the confiscation of the banned substance, two drug suspects were also arrested, the police said.

At about 7 a.m., Moises Padilla police arrested Joy Jaravilla, alias “Jao”, a laborer and resident of the town’s Barangay 5 Poblacion after he transacted to a poseur buyer at Sitio San Remigio in Barangay Crossing Magallon.

Six sachets of the banned substance valued at P340,000 and weighing about 50 grams and a motorcycle were recovered from Jaravilla’s possession upon his arrest, police records showed.

Acting town police chief, Major Joevito Bose said Jaravilla is in their drugs watch list and was already arrested at a buy bust operation back in 2016 but was later released.

Bose said they already identified Jaravilla’s companions while they received information that the suspect supplies illegal drugs not only in Moises Padilla but also in other nearby areas including La Castellana town.

He noted that investigation showed that Jaravilla is getting his supply from Barangay Banago in Bacolod as well as from Bago City.

Meanwhile, an estimated P183,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized by operatives of Police Station 8 in a drug bust operation at Ramilu Village, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

The operation also led to the arrest of Ma. Glosita Guilaran, 53, a resident of the said village.

Major Joery Puerto, commander of Police Station 8, said Guilaran was arrested after she sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from Guilaran’s possession nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 27 grams, the P500 marked money, and a pouch.

Puerto said Guilaran, who was identified as a street level individual, was under surveillance for almost a month before her arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. She will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*/APN/
