Learners Struggles in Math Subject

MATHEMATICS is an essential component of human thought and logic, as well as attempts to understand the world and ourselves. Mathematics is an excellent tool for developing mental discipline and for encouraging logical reasoning and mental rigor.

Learning mathematics will assist students in developing their logical thinking and problem-solving abilities. It has numerous applications in everyday life. The most important aspect of our lives is the basic arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We perform a number of calculations based on these operations. There are many reasons why students find out why math is hard, some of those are;

When attempting to solve a math problem, students must concentrate and carefully follow each step. If they lose concentration or become distracted at any point during this process, they are much more likely to make a mistake and must restart until they get the correct answer.

Making the same mistakes over and over can erode your child’s confidence and interest in math, especially if they feel they are falling behind their classmates.

The foundation of mathematics is sequential learning. If a student did not fully comprehend a previous lesson’s concept, they are likely to struggle with newer concepts. To reduce fractions, students must first understand division; to do algebra, students must first understand multi-step arithmetic, and so on. Unfortunately, many students who are having difficulty with math feel awkward or embarrassed asking questions in class when their teacher has already moved on to the next lesson.

Math requires a lot of multi-step processes to solve problems, so mastering it takes a lot more practice than other subjects. Having to repeat a process over and over can quickly bore some children, leading to frustration with math. While teaching your child to be patient is an important step in their development, they should also be encouraged to practice math through fun and engaging activities.

Many students simply do not practice math concepts enough. Other students may be unaware that they require additional time to review certain topics. Sometimes a student believes they understand a concept, but when it comes time to solve a problem, they don’t know where to start or end up struggling through the process.

Truly, Mathematics is often considered to be one of the most challenging subjects for students. In is often attempt to memorize facts instead of being able to think, reason, and problem solve with numbers. But at end the mathematics is one the foundation in this world in order to have brighter future.*
