Marcos elated by Octa survey result

-

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was elated by results of the recent survey conducted by Octa Research that revealed at least eight out of every 10 Filipinos believe that the country is headed in the right direction under his leadership.

In a press conference on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, Marcos said the result of the Tugon ng Masa survey of Octa was “very encouraging.”

Marcos said it is vital for government policies and programs to be felt by Filipinos across all socio-economic classes.

“It crosses demographics; the number is more or less the same across the demographics. So that is important to me because every class of society must feel that they are being served by the government,” he said.

“And with that kind of statistic, then it looks like we have at least — we have made the government felt at every level of society. That’s what’s important to me,” he added.

Out of the 1,200 adult respondents who participated in the survey, 85 percent answered in affirmative when asked if they think the country is leading in the right direction under Marcos while only six percent responded “no.”

Based on socio-economic class, 86 percent of the respondents who responded in affirmative belonged to Class D or “masa,” while 81 percent belonged to Class E or “poorest and 79 percent were under upper-to-middle class.”

Among the priorities of the Marcos administration are: implementation of efforts to ensure the country’s food security by further strengthening the agriculture sector, recovery amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, rightsizing of the government, further development of infrastructure projects, digitalization, bringing down the poverty rate as well as cushioning the effects of the increasing prices of basic commodities.
