Education and technology

-

IN UNDERSTANDING the meaning of the ever evolving educational landscape, we must look at its different concepts and phases. Education today has advance technology and resources that was lacking in the early days, wherein before, there’s no computers, projectors, laptops, cellphones or other technological innovations that are abundant today to improve the quality of life.

During the early times, the most basic instruments of learning were chalk and blackboard. The transfer and delivery of knowledge and skills were first handwritten and drawn on the face of a blackboard, most of people grew up learning the ABC’s through that method, and they enjoyed it and the quality of learning is good. Now, children and the students are lucky to have different educational technologies and advanced methods and strategies at their disposal.

The use of computers and other breakthroughs has definitely changed the way we see education. In this crucial stage, we must admit that technology has a lot to say in our everyday life. Its concept is to make our lives simpler and practical without compromising the basic Industry and technology created innovations. However, everything has its advantages and disadvantages. And technology, if improperly used can reverse the purpose in education. Social media, phones, tablet, television and Laptops and cellphones can avert the attention of anyone into learning. But if used properly, can also speed up our way of learning. Even though these technologies are rapidly emerging, it is believed that the blueprints were first crafted and dreamed about in the classrooms, where chalks, blackboards, teacher, and classmates are there.

We will barely survive a society without learning. Everything we do is part of education. We transcend boundaries and limitations by being educated. Education has conformed to the changing times and we, as educators, must conform to it.
