Hygienic frozen foods display area measure passed

-

THE City Council during Monday’s regular session passed on 1st reading the proposed ordinance introduced by Councilor Elaine Sembrano requiring all retailers of fresh meat or fish or processed food products sold as frozen goods in the City of Baguio, to place their merchandises in display cases, chillers or freezers and providing for penalties therefor. In her proposal, the lady councilor stated that since the city is a favorite destination both for local and foreign tourists, there is a need to take into consideration all aspects of development in the city, such as its trade and commercial environment. Particularly, the proposed measure quantified that it is imperative to improve how goods and services are offered in the various commercial establishments elsewhere including the public market to give reasons for visitors and residents alike to patronize businesses in the city. The proposal likewise acknowledged that the city’s local economy is driven by the tourism industry which is also the precursor of other related economic activities. Meanwhile, the Committee on Laws, Human Rights and Justice of the City Council chaired by Councilor Faustino Olowan is inviting the concerned stakeholders for a public consultation tomorrow March 30, 2017, 1PM at the City Council Session Hall to discuss the Proposed Ordinance , P.O Numbered 0003-17 entitled “A City Code Pursuing A Public Private Partnership for the People Initiative for Local Governments (LGU P4) Approach Towards Development, Providing for the Procedure for Selecting the Private Sector Proponent, Adopting a Contract Management Framework, and Providing Appropriations and For Other Purposes”. The committee shall gather inputs in aid of legislation on private sector participation in infrastructure-development-and social servicerelated projects of the State and the LGUs through what is popularly known as “Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). you may, if the diseases is not checked. The ISIS phenomenon, by the way, is a part of that haywired evolution. As educational environment brought it about so by the same creative agent can it be redirected unto good.

But back to the topic at hand on hidden treasures. I always wondered why when one indulges in the search and recovery of hidden treasure, he is looked upon as a potential thief of the night. He cannot go to the open and be cheered on all because of human laws and/or man’s attitude. Or is there something more, hands of the unseen, that is? Look at these factual happenings: 1. President Marcos indulged in treasure hunt and recovery. He even utilized the Philippine Armed Forces and the Philippine Constabulary. He did good but got condemned and laid aside. The PC, face down? had to give way to PNP. The AFP keeps meeting its nemesis blood brother NPA, in bloody encounters, both working purportedly for the same common good of co-citizens.

2. Fr. Balweg, alias to Ka Ambo, did good praised to the high blue dome of the CAR he conceived and co-created, sought by venturesome visitors here and abroad, got physically eliminated and is wished to be relegated to oblivion; his CAR is planned to be supplanted with an ARC as beautiful as the tantalizing rainbow that is pitifully devoid of a desired substance; his CPLA that had assisted in the Yamashita treasure hunt to hopefully fund the autonomy movement has factionalized to immobility.

3. President “Cory” Aquino, who tried to dip her hands in the search for the elusive treasure following one or the other interested general, was obviously unsuccessful and met with a pained final exit. (Sorry to mention that but it is a part of recollection.)

The three above-mentioned personalities were like Moses permitted by God to view a promised land but were not meant to enter it All that transpired with them, together with unmentioned others with them, can only lead to what we may call here as the concluding golden nugget or lesson to lay off one’s hands from hidden treasure in an ancestral domain area, particularly the CAR, because it is the prime purpose of CAR to preserve the region’s land and wealth for its next generations. The mambunong say the ancestral spirits are strongly felt around. Avoid painful exits, partial or thorough. Defer to Destiny, or better, the Divine Architect of the universe.
