SOME 22 entrepreneurs from Baguio City are currently undergoing "Mentor Me Program" of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

DTI Baguio-Benguet provincial director Freda Gawisan said the entrepreneurs started on March 30 coinciding with the launching of the program in the city.

"There are 11 modules they are learning every Thursday. The reason why we have a once a week mentoring is for them to digest whatever they are learning," Gawisan said.

Topics from the module include rules and procedure of how to start a business, entrepreneurial mindset, marketing, resources development, packaging and levelling, taxation, and financing.

DTI have tapped experts in the different fields during the mentoring and a “one on one mentoring” for the participants.

"We are doing this program to help them improve their business to know how to develop their business today. This is their opportunity since not everyone can avail and we hope they will apply whatever they have learned," Gawisan said.

After graduation, DTI also will help the mentor me graduates to connect with

financial institutions which provides a capital to start a better business opportunity.

Another 22 participants from Benguet will also undergo training with the same module on August this year.

On May 19, students from different schools in Northern Luzon attended a training on ecommerce and digital marketing in the University of the Cordilleras which will help them improve business through the use of the internet. Trained students are also advised to help the entrepreneurs in their own locality.
