Fallen cops receive special financial assistance

BENEFICIAR­IES of the four police officers who were slain in an operation in Kalinga on February 17 recently received special financial assistance from the PNP amounting to P594,972.48.

The amount was distribute­d in accordance to the police officers’ length of service which were remitted through their respective ATM accounts.

Beneficiar­ies initially received the total amount of P530,631.46 from the Public Safety Mutual Benefits INC (PSMBFI) in a form of cheque which were handed to them during the wake. The amount was distribute­d as follows: PO3 Cruzaldo Lawagan – P141, 979.57; PO2 Juvenal M Aguinaldo P135, 396.9; PO1 Charles Ryan Compas P127, 410.98; and PO1 Vincent Paul Tay-odP125, 844.01.

Cash donation from Indonesia amounting to P13,513.51 each and 100 kilos of rice from the PNP were also given.

A Medalya ng Kadakilaan was also awarded to each of them by the Police Regional Office - Cordillera regional director C/SUPT. Elmo Francis Sarona.

The immediate action of PRO-COR in processing the necessary documents for the benefit claims of both killed and wounded personnel in the bloody police operation resulted in the early release of all legal claims which totals to P1,152,630.96 benefits from the PNP and other agencies.

Nine wounded policemen: Insp. Eduard Liclic, PO2 Heidi Juliano, PO2 Jessie Trinidad, PO1 Marion Dela Paz, PO1 Gerome Baldos, PO1 Kennon Sanggoy, PO1 Von Harold Layao, PO1 Ferdinand Asuncion and Ferdie Liwag already received a total of P180,000 initial claims from PSMBFI and also awarded with Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting.

Other benefit claims of the KIA from the PNP of their CAL and monthly pension, NAPOLCOM gratuity, burial, pension and scholarshi­p claims, Social Fund (PSF) claims and Shelter Assistance will be released very soon as PRO - COR fast tracked the submission of the necessary documents to the concerned agencies.

Similarly, the claims of the WIA from the Presidenti­al Social Fund (PSF) is also anticipate­d shortly following the submission of the necessary documents. PRO - COR PIO
