PRIOR to the actual Brigada Eskwela, thirty (30) elementary schools and four (4) secondary schools of Bakun District were represented during the conduct of the BE Kick-Off on May 15, 2017 at 7:30 A.M. With the theme: “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan”, the kick-off started with a caravan from Sinipsip, Buguias down to Gold Star, Gambang, Bakun then from that point, it was highlighted with a parade by all of the participating agencies down to Bagtangan Elementary School as the venue for the program and ceremonial BE Kick-Off. With the absence of Dr. Molly M. Ablaza, the district PSDS due to an equal appointment, Dr. Mildred Tuazon, the principal of Ampusongan National Highschool took her place by stressing the implementing guidelines of Brigada Eskwela in accordance with DepEd Memo No. 43, s. 2017. Virgillio Acquisio, PI Artimas Kumanab from Bakun PNP, DRRMC coordinator and representative to the mayor Mr. Alvin Comila, representatives from other agencies and DepEd personnel. Through BE, this is the only means and ways to maintain and sustain the school facilities to be orderly, safe and secured to all learners and occupants ready for the opening of the school year on June 5, 2017.

With the leadership of both the school heads and PTA officers, the mission to prepare the second home away from of the children is possible. Each school of the district had schedule of BE activities as planned. Participants were encouraged by offering their skills and by sharing their time or providing their assistance in kind, and by supporting the schools near their residence through the “SPIRIT of VOLUNTEERISM” or “Tinnulong System”. What to anticipate after the BE enhances the art of giving, team work, willing to contribute without expecting in return, rather, this advocates genuine public and private partnership in action with the goal of maintaining the school environment very inviting conducive for all learners.
