Baguio’s new WIFI business platform
THE CONTINUING business advancement of the country’s leading telecommunications provider SMART have once again offered business establishment a new marketing tool benefiting both the telco and its consumers.
Just recently, the telco giant inaugurated its thirty minute free wifi access to customers of The Hardin RestoCafe at the Camp located along Leonard Wood road herein Baguio City.
This new offering upon consumption of its customers will give them the option of purchasing PIN's for ten pesos giving them an hour of connectivity to the said establishment using carrier grade wifi technology.
In non-technical terms, at least three thousand simultaneous users at one time will experience a blazingly fast wifi connectivity.
Trying out the speedy connectivity, the free minutes Hardin provided us during its inauguration gave us the opportunity to update various apps on our devices.
Surprisingly, one app update we tried using a 1 GB plus was completed in less than five minutes.
Apparently, this carrier grade wifi technology is the same technology installed in the country’s major airports and seaports aside from that of the recently installed tech along EDSA both at the roadside and at the MRT stations wherein the telco giant allocated a billion pesos for base 1 of this project.
The telco boss is now building more public III hotspot areas in Baguio City having a mix of hightraffic areas catering to different sectors of the city's populace.
Having Baguio City as one of its business recipient, SMART has proven to be a significant investor in the telecommunications infrastructure of the city.
